We are looking for talented developers who love to create amazing web experiences to join us in building Kami, our browser-based PDF annotator used by over a million people and 5,000 schools. This is a chance to join a small and agile team where your work will have an immediate impact for our users.

Kami is built on AngularJS, PDF.js, Webpack, and Native Client - We work hard to push the limits of what’s possible in the browser and have fun doing it.

We’re headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, and are hiring remote developers globally. Our founding team is 2/3rds Software Engineers and you’ll be working directly with us - No pointy-haired bosses here :)


WHAT KAMI IS LOOKING FOR:
  • Proficiency with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and experience working with SPA-style web applications.
  • Appetite to learn new languages and technologies - We adopt the latest tech fast, including Service Workers, Native Client, and real-time communication in our app (Most of our users are on evergreen browsers, so we get to use the new stuff).
  • This is primarily a front-end engineering position, however we use Ruby, Java, Docker and PostgreSQL in our backend and experience with them is a bonus.

    We are looking for a well-connected and competitive Inside Sales Executive that thrives in a sales cycle environment in the US K-12 education sector. As an Inside Sales Executive, you will help CTO's, department heads, and teachers implement Kami in their schools. You will be building relationships with key decision-makers and be responsible for taking new clients through the entire sales pipeline – from interest to close.

    You will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls and sending dozens of emails per day generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.

    Adopted by over thousands of schools in the United States, Kami is solving the problems that millions of individuals encounter when they move their workflow online. You'll help take Kami's growth to the next level as K-12 schools move their files into the cloud.

    YOUR ROLE

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements.

    We are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to create amazing user experiences. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.​

    YOUR ROLE

  • Familiar and experienced in Material Design framework.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
